Classwork:

We started with word analysis of 1. terraces and 2. innovative  Students did a Tier 1, Tier 2, chart along with a picture to understand the words.

Students also did an interpreting text question as their warm up.

The main part of the class was reading passages of text and answering discussion questions of 12 areas of Aztec Life.  The 12 areas are:

Social Classes: What were the seven classes of Aztec society? 

Crime and Punishment: What were some crimes and their punishments in the Aztec Empire?

Marriage: What were the roles of students, teachers, schools, family, and friends in the Aztec wedding ritual?

Weaving: 

Clothing: How did Aztecs dress?

Sacrifices: What was the religious meaning of the Aztec sacrifices?

Education: How were Aztec children educated?

Motherhood: Why were Aztec mothers honored and how were they honored?

Food: What food did the Aztecs eat?

Markets: What are the Aztec markets like?

Recreation: What were forms of entertainment among the Aztecs?

Warfare: Why was warfare important to the Aztecs? 

Homework: Please discuss with your parents at least one aspect of Aztec Daily life you learned today.
